Shipping Zone Finder

Shipping zone finder

Two pincodes in, zone out. See whether a lane is local, zonal, metro-to-metro, rest-of-India or remote, what that means for price, and how long delivery usually takes.

Mumbai → Indore

Zonal (same region)

Surface 2–3 days · Express 1–2 days

Both pincodes sit in the same region of India, so couriers bill it as a regional lane — cheaper and faster than a national one.

How couriers decide the zone

Every courier rate card is a grid of weight slabs against zones, and the zone is decided by where the two pincodes sit. Within a city is cheapest; within a region next; metro to metro is priced below rest-of-India because hub volumes are high; and the North-East, the Kashmir valley and the islands carry a remote premium and ODA surcharges.

Zone names differ, the logic doesn't

Couriers name the zones differently, as A to E or by region, but the logic is the same. Knowing the zone before you quote a customer or compare couriers removes most surprises on the invoice.

Questions about this tool

Mumbai and Pune are in the same region, so couriers bill a zonal rate. Mumbai to Delhi crosses regions and is billed as a metro-to-metro lane, which costs more but is still below rest-of-India.

Pincodes in the North-East, the Kashmir valley and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are treated as a special zone by most couriers, with higher rates, longer transit and out-of-delivery-area surcharges on some locations.

The principles match, but each courier draws its own map and names zones differently. The zone shown here is the common industry pattern; your rate card lists the exact one per courier.
