Courier and freight services attract 18% GST (SAC 9968 / 9965). A GST-registered seller can claim it as input tax credit against output GST, so the net cost is the taxable freight. Details: GST on shipping charges in India.
How GST applies to courier charges
Courier and goods-transport services in India attract 18% GST. On an intrastate invoice it appears as 9% CGST plus 9% SGST; on an interstate one as 18% IGST. If you are GST-registered and the courier invoices your GSTIN, that tax is input tax credit you set off against the GST you collect on sales, so your real cost is the taxable freight.
GST on shipping you charge customers
When you charge customers for shipping, the charge takes the GST rate of the goods in the order, not 18%, because shipping is part of the composite supply. The calculator above handles the first case, what the courier charges you.
