What is Last Mile?

Last mile is the final leg — from the destination hub to the buyer's doorstep. It is the most expensive and failure-prone stretch of the journey, and where NDR, RTO, and the delivery experience are decided.

The last mile is where a rider actually attempts delivery to the buyer's address. Because it involves individual doorstep stops across scattered pincodes, it carries the highest per-parcel cost and the most points of failure — unreachable buyers, incomplete addresses, and COD-not-ready situations all play out here.

  • Last-mile reach varies sharply by courier and by pincode, especially in tier-2/3 and rural areas.
  • Accurate buyer phone numbers and address details are the cheapest way to lift last-mile success rates.
