The challenge
Wattline ships around 4,200 orders a month of chargers, cables and earbuds, with a healthy share above ₹2,000. Expensive, small parcels are attractive targets, so undelivered COD orders that turned into RTO carried both freight cost and shrinkage risk on the return leg. A flat single-courier contract also meant they overpaid on lanes where a regional partner was cheaper and faster.
The solution
RouteOneX surfaced live rate comparison across couriers for every destination, so Wattline auto-selected the cheapest reliable option per pincode instead of one blanket rate. High-value COD orders were run through RTO risk scoring and held for buyer confirmation before dispatch, and NDR alerts fed a same-day re-attempt and address-correction workflow so parcels were not written off after one failed knock.
The results
Per-pincode rate comparison trimmed indicative freight spend by about ₹3.4L a year, while verifying high-value COD before dispatch cut RTO on the priciest orders by nearly 40%. Faster NDR resolution meant fewer expensive parcels sitting undelivered, tightening both cash flow and shrinkage on the return leg.
