How Nuvedic Nutrition ships smarter

A health-supplements brand scaling COD across India moved to D+2 remittance and slashed fake-address RTO on heavy protein tubs using RouteOneX risk scoring.

The challenge

Nuvedic ships roughly 6,000 orders a month of protein and wellness supplements, with about 70% on COD and average parcel weight above 2kg. High-ticket COD attracts fake or non-serious orders, and every RTO meant paying return freight on a heavy shipment plus the risk of a tampered tub. Their old provider remitted COD on a T+8 cycle, which strangled working capital for a brand reordering raw material constantly.

The solution

RouteOneX scored each COD order for RTO risk using pincode history, order value and buyer signals. Risky orders were auto-held for WhatsApp and IVR confirmation before an AWB was generated, while trusted repeat buyers shipped instantly. The team also compared per-kg slab rates across couriers for heavy parcels and disputed the mis-declared weights their carrier had been billing on the 2kg-plus tubs.

The results

RTO on high-value COD dropped by more than a quarter once shaky orders were verified up front. Weight-dispute recovery returned about ₹94k on wrongly billed heavy parcels, and switching to D+2 COD remittance meant cash landed in days rather than the following week — enough to keep inventory cycles running without a credit line.

Protein tubs are heavy and mostly COD, so a single RTO costs us twice — forward and return freight on 2kg-plus parcels. RouteOneX's risk score let us hold or verify the shaky orders, and D+2 remittance meant we were no longer financing the courier for a week.Rohan Iyer, Growth Lead, Nuvedic Nutrition
